Why do you want to be a tutor?
- I have a love for education (especially reading and writing), and know that I am able to assist students in areas that they need a bit of guidance. School be can difficult, but with the support and help from others, it can be a fun challenge.
Why should a student pick you?
- As I just finished a credentialing program at CSUSM, my students have told me that they find me approachable and that I don't make them feel 'lesser'. I take whatever we are learning about, and apply it to the student's life. This is the form of connection that needs to be established in order for the student to connect to the lesson at hand.
Personal Statement:
- Through my extensive experience working with the youth, I have learned different ways to teach different kinds of students. I have worked with the YMCA as a summer camp counselor, was a tutor at Mustardseed Tutorial Center for four years while attending college, taught English in Germany for a year, and just finished a teaching credentialing program at CSUSM where I earned a multiple subject credential, single subject credential in English, and a subject matter authorization in Literature.
